Recent research has shown that this year a total of £23 billion will be spent on plastic abroad, with credit card companies making around £368 million in fees from credit card users, and the banks could end up with a further £318 million from debit card users. Credit and debit card users are being urged to check the fees of their plastic when using it abroad, and to shop around if they’ll be spending a lot on plastic overseas - as some cards offer commission free use abroad.
